Gabriel 'Could Leave Arsenal' As Juventus Line Up Matthijs De Ligt Replacement

Arsenal are at risk of losing their central defender.

If reports out of Italy are accurate, Arsenal could be set to lose a star centre back as Juventus look to replace Matthijs De Ligt.

It is being reported that the Turin-based club are big fans of Arsenal’s Gabriel and he will be amongst those on their wishlist following De Ligt’s rumoured departure.

With Manchester City, Manchester United and, most noticeably, Chelsea in the running for the Old Lady’s young centre back, Juventus will have plenty of cash to replace their man.

Get Italian Football News also report that Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile could be pursued by the Italian giants if a move for their Dutch defender materialises.

Gabriel has been a mainstay of Arsenal’s defence since his arrival at the club and he has continually impressed fans with the way he approaches his defensive duties.

As well as this, the Brazilian has been known to pop up and cause havoc in the opposition’s box, contributing to his side with the occasional goal or two.

For the main part, Mikel Arteta’s men were much improved as a defensive unit last season and Gabriel was a key part of this.

When fully fit, Arsenal’s first choice defence was as impressive as the Emirates Stadium faithful have seen for many years.

Gabriel and Benjamin White formed a solid centre-back pairing, complementing each other wonderfully and Arsenal fans will be worried that rumours suggest this could be ending soon.

With William Saliba set to return to the fold next season, there is going to be added competition and depth in the centre back department for Arsenal, and Arteta would love to keep this.

For the moment, it appears that Arsenal will keep hold of their centre-half but with the transfer window moving fast, who knows what could happen come the start of the season?
