Mikel Arteta: Arsenal's Transfer Business Is Not Finished Yet

Arsenal have already brought in four players during the transfer market so far, but Mikel Arteta says they aren't finished yet.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is adamant business is far from done in the transfer market, telling FC Series that his squad “is not yet complete”.

The Gunners have been fairly active in the transfer market thus far, securing the services of Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus.

However, this is merely the beginning in Arteta’s estimation, the foundational pillars of turning the Emirates into a fortress.

Arsenal have been linked with players across the continent as they seek to return to the Champions league for the first time since the 2015/16 season.

Painful times have ensued since the second-place finish to Leicester that season.

Arteta is keen to ensure the pain fades away to be replaced with ecstasy for the coming season.

As of late, the strongest link has been that of Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko, with the ultra-reliable Fabrizio Romano reporting that:

"There’s an agreement between Arsenal and Man City since Friday, £30m.

"Talks still ongoing on personal terms - the clubs want final decision within this week."

Even with the seemingly imminent addition of the versatile Ukrainian, the Gunners boss will not be satisfied until his squad is complete.

A winger is a necessity, with the failed move for Raphinha highlighting that the club are aware that competition for the club’s very own starboy Bukayo Saka is needed.

Elsewhere, a move for Youri Tielemans has halted, after a deal appeared inevitable a few weeks ago.

It remains to be seen whether Edu and co. pursue the Belgian international any further.

Regardless, the positive sign is that the Spaniard is aware of the need for improvement.

In a moment of evolution, the club cannot stand still, an outcome Arteta is keen for the club to avoid.
