Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that there are two players Arsenal 'must sign' this summer if they want to have a successful transfer window.

The Gunners will be hoping to have a better season than last when the new campaign gets underway in August, after a dip in form towards the end of the season saw the club finish in fifth behind north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite failing to finish inside the top four, it's not believed that this will impact Arsenal's ability to sign their top transfer targets.

With Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having departed the club, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun remain Arsenal's only senior strikers.

“They have to get him [Gabriel Jesus],” Agbonlahor told TalkSPORT.

“He’s the perfect striker for Arsenal.

"Odegaard in-behind. Finding his little runs that he likes to make. Then you have Saka on the right and Martinelli on the left. Smith Rowe is also available.

“They can’t rely on Nketiah next season. He [Jesus] is going to be hungry. He’s going to want to play football as well. The World Cup is coming and he’s guaranteed that [game time)] at Arsenal – he would be the main man at Arsenal.”

It's not just in attack that Arsenal require more depth this summer. With constant injuries to Thomas Partey and European competition returning next season, Arsenal will need to strengthen to last the whole season.

Agbonlahor sees Youri Tielemans as the man to solve that issue. “Get Tielemans in that midfield also. With Partey and Odegaard. It just looks a lot better for Arsenal, doesn’t it? They need that striker."
