Arsenal's deadline day is underway, with updates already making their way through.

The Gunners have been hit with the injuries to two important midfielders in Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny, so are expected to attempt to sign a midfielder today.

Links to wingers have persisted all summer, but if Arsenal make a move for one today is not clear.

5:49pm - Aston Villa reject second Arsenal bid

According to Jason Burt of the Telegraph, Aston Villa have turned down Arsenal's second bid for midfielder Douglas Luiz, worth around £23m.

Arsenal are now considering what to do next.

4:18pm - Arsenal submit second bid for Douglas Luiz

Sky Sports report that Arsenal have made a second bid for Douglas Luiz, worth around £25m.

3:30pm - Arsenal to go back in with second bid for Douglas Luiz

David Ornstein reports Arsenal will return with a second bid for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

The Gunners' opening bid was unsuccessful and Aston Villa are determined to keep the player at the club.

Arsenal will keep pushing however, and Luiz is keen to leave.

2:10pm - Hector Bellerin will join Barcelona on a free transfer

According to David Ornstein, Hector Bellerin will join Barcelona on a free transfer.

The defender will take a pay-cut to join the Spanish club and will waive any fees owed by the Gunners.

1:02pm - Hector Bellerin agrees contract termination

According to James Olley, Hector Bellerin has agreed to terminate his contract with Arsenal.

The defender will now negotiate a contract with Barcelona.

12:26pm - Arsenal submit offer for Douglas Luiz

According to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Arsenal have now submitted an offer for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luz.

The bid is thought to be in the region of £20m.

11:45am - Arsenal prepared to reach an agreement on personal terms with Douglas Luiz

According to Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder is keen on the potential move to the Emirates.

11:37am - Aston Villa have bid for Dendoncker accepted

According to David Ornstein, Aston Villa have had a bid accepted for Wolves midfielder Leandro Dendoncker.

The move could potentially open the exit door for Douglas Luiz.

10:43am - Arsenal pushing hard for Douglas Luiz

According to multiple reports, including the reliable David Ornstein, Arsenal are pushing to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

The Gunners are reportedly preparing an offer for the Brazilian. Aston Villa do not want to sell, but the player wants to leave and has less than a year remaining on his Villa contract.

10:30am - Barcelona have chosen to sign Hector Bellerin

According to Relevo in Spain, Barcelona have chosen to sign Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin.

They report Bellerin will terminate his contract with the Gunners and join Barcelona on a 'significant' salary reduction.
