Callum Hudson-Odoi could leave Chelsea amid interest from Southampton, while he has been discussed with Leicester City.

The winger was left out of Chelsea’s squad on the first game of the Premier League season as they faced Everton.

Thomas Tuchel’s side came out 1-0 victors following a Jorginho penalty after Ben Chilwell was brought down.

It was not an iconic performance from Chelsea, who put an end to a miserable run of results at Goodison Park, previously losing four of their last five at the stadium.

Tuchel admitted that despite the less than impressive performance, the result was the most important thing for the Blues on the opening day of the Premier League season.

“We are not on the highest level,” he told Sky Sports.

“Players came in late. Pre-season was turbulent. We had a lot of training last week. We had not enough movement on the ball, more ball losses.

“Strange second half. 10 minutes extra time in the end, strange.

"We hang in and kept a clean sheet so from here we go. We struggled last season to get points. We have them.

“A win is a win, it's the most important. We have to get better."

Despite Chelsea struggling to create chances throughout the match, Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz played the majority of the match, with Armando Broja and Christian Pulisic featuring from the bench.

Hudson-Odoi and Timo Werner were not named on the bench despite completing pre-season with the Blues.

It has now been reported by Fabrizio Romano that Hudson-Odoi could now leave Chelsea.

Southampton have asked for the winger on loan, with him set to make the decision over his future in the coming days.

The Blues blocked a loan move to Borussia Dortmund last summer, with Tuchel insisting that he needed the youngster to play part in his squad for the season.

This could change this summer as the Blues have more reinforcements, with several returning loanees.

Leicester City are also linked with the player, with his name coming up in recent days.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Wesley Fofana from Leiecester, with a rumoured £80 million valuation.

It remains to be seen as to whether Hudson-Odoi could be used in any deal, with a loan currently being discussed.

With several weeks left in the transfer window the Blues could make a move for several players as Tuchel looks to add to his squad.
