Petr Cech Confirms Chelsea Expect Busy Summer Amid Raheem Sterling & Jules Kounde Interest

Petr Cech Confirms Chelsea Expect Busy Summer Amid Raheem Sterling & Jules Kounde Interest

Chelsea Techincal and Performance advisor Petr Cech has stated that he expects a busy summer ahead for the Blues.

Chelsea’s Technical and Performance advisor Petr Cech is expecting a busy summer ahead as the Blues plan for their first transfer window under the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership.

The consortium succeeded Roman Abramovich at the end of May and are expecting immediate results, looking to challenge at the top of the Premier League next season.

Speaking ahead of Soccer Aid, Cech discussed the summer plans as he prepares for life under the Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership.

When asked if he is expecting for the summer to be busy, he admitted: "It will be (a busy summer for Chelsea following new owners' arrival).

“Of course we plan, prepare, and be as strong as we can next season."

The new owners will reportedly hand the reigns to Thomas Tuchel in the transfer window, allowing him to take control of the incomings and outgoings this summer.

Tuchel will be given £200 million this summer to bring in reinforcements as he looks to rebuild his Chelsea squad, but he will have to manage some outgoings first. One of the most important calls will be regarding the future of club-record signing Romelu Lukaku, who is desperately seeking a return to Inter Milan this summer.

The Blues paid a huge £97.5 million to bring the Belgian to Stamford Bridge last summer and it looks like they will not recoup the fee as Inter look for a loan move in the transfer window.

In terms of incomings, it has been reported that Chelsea have already offered Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele a four-year deal ahead of his contract expiry in Spain at the end of the month, with Tuchel previously working with the winger at Borussia Dortmund.

However, to bring in an attacker it is likely that another forward option at Chelsea will have to leave, alongside Lukaku.

It has been reported that the Blues would be open to listening and receiving bids for Christian Pulisic this summer, along with Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen will depart Chelsea, with Rudiger already being officially announced as a Real Madrid player, whilst Christensen has been named on the released list

Sevilla defender Jules Kounde has been linked with a switch to London, deemed to be the ‘priority’ signing in the transfer window while Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli could also join Tuchel’s squad as the Blues are sure to have a busy summer ahead of them.
