Confirmed Teams: AC Milan vs Chelsea | Champions League

Chelsea face AC Milan in the Champions League and the confirmed team news is in from the San Siro.

Chelsea face AC Milan in gameweek four of their Champions League campaign and the confirmed team news is in from the San Siro.

Graham Potter's side currently sit in second place in Group E and a victory would ensure they create a three-point gap with the Italian side, who occupy third position in the group.

After starting their Champions League games with a loss and a draw, back-to-back wins would see Chelsea gain confidence in potential progression into the knock-out stages.

The Blues were in fine form during their 3-0 win against Stefano Pioli's men last week at Stamford Bridge.

They collected their first clean sheet since 6 August against Everton and had three different goalscorers in Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James.

Despite coming out comfortable victors last time out, Potter is expecting a challenging encounter to be played out in Italy.

"It's an incredible place here and a very different game," he told reporters in his pre-match press conference.

"AC Milan will try to use the home advantage like we did [last week].

"Two good teams, two evenly matched teams. I'm looking forward to it."

Ahead of the fixture, Chelsea had two injury blows to add to the absence of Fofana which would've impacted the travelling squad.

Hakim Ziyech was ruled out with an illness, meanwhile, N'Golo Kante suffered an injury setback during Chelsea training.

Potter explained:

"Hakim (Ziyech) is ill. N'Golo (Kante) we're just waiting for the news of that.

"It is certainly not ideal so we will have to wait and see the extent of it and go from there," he said of Kante's injury.

"It's not ideal and it is disappointing for him and for us. We'll have to see the extent of it and go from there."

Here is the confirmed team news from the San Siro ahead of this Champions League clash:

Chelsea

Starting XI: Kepa, Chalobah, Silva, Koulibaly, James, Kovacic, Jorginho, Chilwell, Mount, Sterling, Aubameyang
