It has been revealed how much Chelsea are prepared to offer Ousmane Dembele this summer as Barcelona could make a bold decision regarding his future.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of June and has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.
The winger could reunite with Thomas Tuchel as the pair spent a season together at Borussia Dortmund.
The latest reports have not looked positive for Chelsea, with it being reported that his wage demands are a ‘tough obstacle to overcome’.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that the winger wants to stay at Barcelona beyond the summer, with his current side already offering him a new contract at the club.
His entourage have said: “Dembele wants to stay because the coach loves him, the player feels happy in Barcelona and is used to it.
"He is in his prime years, hence, the club's offer should not be far from the other offers we have."
However, Tuchel remains keen on a deal this summer and has identified Dembele as a perfect option for his attacking rebuild.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the Chelsea head coach ‘continues to push’ for the signing as he is a ‘priority’ this summer.
Tuchel ‘knows his potential’ but the Blues have been unable to take advantage of his expiring contract due to being on ‘administrative standby’ for months.
The report continues to reveal that Tuchel’s interest in Dembele is ‘so strong’ that the club are willing to offer the winger €8m-a-year to move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are ‘pressing’ to convince the 25-year-old to join them this summer.
Furthermore, Chelsea could be handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Dembele.
With Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich looking unlikely to make a move, the French international has two options.
He can either remain at Barcelona on lower wages or move to Chelsea.
As reported by Spanish journalist Gabriel Sans, Barcelona are thinking about withdrawing their contract offer to Dembele.
There is a division within the board, as some believe it would be a logical decision for the club's image to withdraw the offer.
This comes after months of negotiations over an extension in Spain.
If the Spaniards decide to withdraw their latest offer, Dembele’s only true interest will come from Chelsea and Tuchel.
This could also hand the Blues an upper hand in any negotiations, being able to offer their own terms this summer.
It remains to be seen as to what the future holds for the French winger, with it seeming like a choice between Chelsea and Barcelona as things stand.
