Cesare Casadei breaks silence ahead of London flight after Chelsea and Inter Milan agree fee

Incoming Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has broken his silence ahead of his move as he flies to London to undergo his medical.

Incoming Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has broken his silence ahead of his move as he flies to London to undergo his medical.

This comes after Chelsea agreed a fee with Inter Milan for the 19-year-old, which will see him play his football at Stamford Bridge this season.

The Blues are set to pay an initial fee of €15 million, with further add-ons of €5 million as they look to wrap up the deal for Casadei.

Thomas Tuchel was keen to bring in youngsters this summer, with Todd Boehly backing the vision of the head coach as well as academy lead Neil Bath.

Carney Chukwuemeka has arrived for £20 million from Aston Villa, with Gabriel Slonina also joining alongside Omari Hutchinson and Eddie Beach.

Casadei will add to the younger recruits this summer, with it unclear as to whether he will train with the first team like Chukwuemeka, feature for the development squad like Hutchinson and Beach or go on loan like Slonina.

Speaking earlier in the summer, Tuchel admitted the need for younger signings to replace Chelsea’s old guard.

“We need to make sure we have a new generation to take over in the next few years but the guys are strong, that is why they have our trust,” he said.

“Yes, there needs to be a balance."

With Jorginho and N’Golo Kante both out of contract at the end of the season, it remains to be seen as to whether either will be at the club come next summer.

Therefore, the Blues have acted to bring in younger players who can learn from them and perhaps be the replacements when needed.

Casadei is now on his way to London, videoed leaving Milan airport as he prepares to move to Chelsea.

As recorded by Marco Bovicelli, Casadei said his farewells to the press before checking into the airport ahead of the move.

Fabrizio Romano has since transcribed and translated the audio, with Casadei breaking his silence on the move.

The 19-year-old fielded questions about his Inter departure before saying: "I feel so proud, I’m ready for this new chapter.

“Chelsea? I’m always ready."

All that awaits is an official confirmation from Chelsea as the Italian is set for his medical in London ahead of finalising his move to the Premier League.
