Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed his aims and ambitions for his Chelsea career after netting on his Premier League debut for the Blues.

The 33-year-old scored their equaliser against Crystal Palace to kickstart the comeback on Saturday afternoon as Conor Gallagher came off the bench to win the game 2-1 in the closing minutes at Selhurst Park.

Aubameyang’s finish was a proper striker’s goal which Chelsea have missed in recent times, with the Gabon international admitting it was a ‘huge relief’ to open his Blues account.

“When you are a striker, you are always looking for your first goal so to score early into my career at Chelsea is a huge relief.”

They now turn their attention to Champions League action. Chelsea need a result against AC Milan on Wednesday night to keep their qualification hopes alive in Group E.

The Crystal Palace win gives Chelsea confidence, says Aubameyang, who hopes to help his team out ahead of a tough run of games prior to the World Cup break.

“First of all, I want to try and enjoy every minute here and playing my hardest to help the team out,” he told the official Chelsea website.

“This victory gives us a lot of confidence.

"I think, as a group, getting that first win was really important for us as a team and for the new manager, so we are really happy.

“Getting the victory away from home is also a big step and I think this is very good for us going into a big run of tough games now.”

Aubameyang believes it is imperative that Chelsea win against the Rossoneri to have any chance of finishing in the top two to progress into the Champions League knockouts.

As quoted by football.london, he added: "Maybe we will get our first three points at home.

"I think this is really important – if we want to qualify we have to win the game.

“These two games are key and we will have to show character like we did against Crystal Palace on Saturday and win those two games."
