It was a historic day for Australians in wrestling with Rhea Ripley and Indi Hartwell both capturing championships on the same day.

Ripley cemented her place at the top of the ladder in the WWE by defeating Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

It was one of the most anticipated matchups on night one of WrestleMania with the Royal Rumble winner going up against the 14-time world champion.

And it was arguably the best match of the night in a night filled with fantastic bouts and entertaining moments.

Both women went out to steal the show and put everything out there with a point to prove and it was as brutal as they come.

Eventually, the Australian avenged her loss to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36 delivering a Riptide from the top rope to secure the win.

It was a huge crowning moment for Ripley who has become one of the most intriguing and popular superstars on the roster over the past year.

Earlier in the day, Aussie superstar Indi Hartwell also captured gold by winning the NXT Women’s Championship.

Pulling out all the stops in a six-women ladder match the 26-year-old shocked the WWE fans by unhooking the title to secure the win.

Although, she did have a bit of help on the way from her husband Dexter Lumis.

It was a chaotic and hard-hitting ladder match with each woman putting everything on the line.

But Hartwell eventually came out on top to the delight of fans in attendance and plenty online as well.

It signals a huge day for Australians in the WWE with two women who are destined to be a big part of the company for years to come proving why they earned their respective positions.

Aussies are taking over wrestling.
