WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon has beaten Hollywood superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to be named the richest man in the wrestling business in 2022.

The 76-year-old wrestling mogul saw his world-famous promotion hit staggering new heights in 2021, with WWE crossing the $1bn revenue mark for the first time ever.

McMahon, who is tipped to make a sensational in-ring WWE return at WrestleMania 38, is believed to be worth an eye-watering $1.6bn.

That is according to Wealthy Gorilla, which compiled data from sources like Celebrity Net Worth to determine the top 30 richest wrestlers, past and present, using their net worth estimates.

Johnson, 49, shot to superstardom during his remarkable career with WWE as The Rock, with the WWE legend building on his fame and success in Hollywood.

The Fast & Furious and Jumanji star finished a distant second to McMahon in the list, with Johnson’s net worth sitting at a whopping $400m.

WWE legends The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan all made the 30-wrestler rich list.

Wrestlers from outside of WWE also featured in the male-dominated highest earners, with AEW stars Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho finishing 22nd and 10th respectively.
