There isn’t anything more Australian than celebrating a hard-fought win with a shoe filled with beer.

WWE superstar Grayson Waller did exactly that after winning a future shot at the NXT Championship.

Competing in the WWE’s first-ever Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline, the Aussie wrestler made history.

He went up against Camelo Hayes, JD McDonagh, Joe Gacy, and Axiom in a match that had been invented by WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.

The premise of the matchup was to see who would earn the most victories in a 25-minute time limit.

And the Aussie came through with the win with three points in impressive fashion.

Waller pinned Axiom for his third point, with less than a minute remaining on the clock.

Known for being a loudmouth and obnoxious by any means possible, Waller took the opportunity to celebrate in the most Australian manner.

He took off his wrestling boot, stood atop the announce desk, and downed a boot-filled beer to the crowd’s disgust, but to every Australian at home’s delight.

One fan tweeted: “Grayson Waller doing a shoey, full Aussie behaviour. I love him so much.”

Another said: “And a shoey to celebrate the win lol. You don’t have to love Waller, but that was an elite celebration.”

A third wrote: “Daniel Riccardo would be proud.”

The F1 driver and UFC star Tai Tuivasa would both likely be nodding their heads in approval.

The Australian heavyweight has become known for celebrating his UFC wins with the Aussie delicacy.

However, other WWE fans weren’t quite as impressed with the post-match victory celebrations.

One tweeted: “Please tell me that was a brand new shoe, never worn.”

Another said: “Grayson Waller just did a Shoey, gross!!”

They clear aren’t well aware of the Aussie tradition.

Waller is progressing his way up the WWE ladder, and will now face Bron Brekker for WWE’s development championship.
