UFC 249 is set to be the first live sport we've been able to watch in well over a month, and we're already pretty excited, now the official promo's been dropped and we can't wait.

Coronavirus has pretty much stopped all sport around the world, with WWE the only thing that's been live in over a month, and the last elite level football match was 47 days ago.

That makes UFC's event on May 9th a must watch and the card, which was originally set for April 18th, is absolutely stacked from top to bottom.

The promo for the event has really got us in the mood for to watch this, just over 10 days to go fortunately.

Originally Tony Ferguson was supposed to be main eventing the card against Khabib Nurmagomedov, with the Russian's lightweight title on the line.

However, before the rescheduled date and location, Khabib pulled out of the fight as he was grounded in Russia and couldn't leave to return to America to fight.

That's left Ferguson fighting for the interim title for the second time in his career, taking on number four ranked Gaethje, who was expected to take on Conor McGregor in the near future.

In the co-main event Henry Cejudo defends his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz. The former two weight world champ was supposed to be defending against Jose Aldo but, as with Khabib, the Brazilian isn't able to get to Florida for the events.

There's a big heavyweight tear up too as former title challenger Francis Ngannou takes on the undefeated Jairzinho Rozenstruik, whose 10 wins includes nine by knockout.

And Donald Cerrone's return to action, since his 40 second loss to McGregor in January, sees him face Anthony Pettis in the main event of the prelims.

After struggling to find somewhere to host events, UFC 249 was initially going to take place on an Indian reservation casino in California, the promotions next three cards are due to take place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, obviously behind closed doors.

Dana White has also got a private island, being referred to as 'Fight Island,' in order to put on events from June, in order to get international fighters on cards.

On Monday Ariel Helwani reported that McGregor and Nate Diaz could have their trilogy fight on the island, which would be massive.
