Reyes started tremendously, applying pressure from the start, throwing power shots. He then appeared to drop Jones as he clearly won the opening round.
The challenger continued his blistering start by attacking Jones' legs in the second round. The champion responded to Reyes' early onslaught by pressuring him, successfully landing leg kicks and a stinging left hook.
Jones pressed Reyes in the third round, catching him with strikes before attempting a takedown.
Jones came out grappling in the championship rounds, sticking to Reyes like glue as the judges awarded him the fight.

Speaking after the fight, Jones said: "Dominick did a tremendous job. Dominick, you have totally earned my respect, that was a great fight. I think the difference in the fight was takedowns. I couldn't keep him down for too long, but I was taking him down.
"That fifth round won me the fight. Those takedowns won me the fight. I believe in my whole heart I won that fight, it was very close."
Reyes said: "I thought I won one through three. He was on me four and five, he's a champion, he got those takedowns at the end, but I popped right back up, I didn't think they'd be a factor... it is what it is, I'll get better. This just proves I'm the real deal."
The win moves Jones to 26-1-(1) in his career with a move up in weight to the heavyweight division potentially on the cards after he teased a super fight with Stipe Miocic.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Jones def. Reyes by unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46).
