A 'Shy' Khabib Nurmagomedov Was 'Starstruck' When He Met His Idol Georges St-Pierre
Nurmagomedov and St-Pierre bumped into each other back in May 2017 ahead of UFC 209.
At the time, Nurmagomedov was set to face Tony Ferguson while St-Pierre was preparing for his UFC comeback against Michael Bisping.
And during fight week, 'GSP' and 'The Eagle' shared a respectful exchange at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The Canadian megastar approached the Russian fighter to wish him the best of luck. He continued by hailing the undefeated phenom as the "best".
The UFC lightweight king told UFC Embedded: "My father say his dream fight me vs. Georges St-Pierre."
Needless to say, the pleasant meeting between Nurmagomedov and St-Pierre got MMA fans talking.
One YouTube user wrote: "Khabib looked star struck... like he's just met his hero. I think GSP is the only fighter he really looks up to."
A second commented: "Khabib looks shy nervous when he met his idol GSP."
A third added: "GSP vs Khabib will be the biggest match of all time."

A super-fight between Nurmagomedov and St-Pierre has been mooted after UFC president Dana White said he'd entertain the bout.
The 28-0 star is set to return to the Octagon against Justin Gaethje on October 24 and if victorious, he has his eyes on St-Pierre.
He's hoping to face the former reigning UFC welterweight champion in April 2021 after revealing his plans on Instagram.
Speaking about Nurmagomedov vs. St-Pierre, White explained: "At the end of the day, the Conor McGregor [rematch], I know Conor has wanted that fight since the last one [in October 2018].
"That's a fight to make, but I don't know. We'll see how this plays out.
"Sure, [I would be open to St-Pierre] if it's his last fight. This guy's been great to the company, great to the sport. I like Khabib a lot. I would do anything Khabib wanted to do."
