Dana White says Conor McGregor is ready to fight and could appear on 'Fight Island' in June.

The UFC president has revealed that the Irish superstar is taking a keen interest in returning to the famed Octagon by venturing to 'Fight Island'.

The 50-year-old was asked whether he'd been in contact with McGregor about a fight amid the coronavirus crisis.

And he picked up his phone and read out a text message from the ex-double UFC champion.

"This is Conor right here," White told Barstool Sports' Robbie Fox, reading his phone.

"He's asking me, 'What date could I fight on Fight Island, and will there be fans?'... Conor's asking me. Conor wants to fight. We're not talking about a specific opponent. He wants to fight.

"He wants to fight, it sounds like he wants to fight in June and he's asking if there would be fans there. There would not be fans, and the fight would either be mid-June or the end of June. But Conor wants to fight."

With the UFC lightweight title tied up for the remainder of the year, opponents like BMF champion Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz have been touted as McGregor's next potential foe.

And White has hinted that a BMF title fight between Masvidal and McGregor could well take place on 'Fight Island'.

"The Usman fight is the fight that makes sense," he told the Menace and The Man Podcast. "It's the fight that needs to happen if Masvidal wants a title shot.

"But, yeah, there's another interesting fight out there for him right now."

When asked about Masvidal vs. McGregor, White replied: "Very good point. That's a possibility too."

Meanwhile, McGregor made a triumphant UFC comeback when he destroyed Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds in January. The victory came 15 months after his last fight.

He's eyeing two more fights in 2020 to complete his season.
