It looks like Conor McGregor vs. Donald Cerrone 'is a done deal'.

A match-up between McGregor and Cerrone has been looming for some time now, and Joe Rogan has seemingly announced the lightweight barn-burner.

Speaking on the UFC Fight Companion podcast after UFC Phoenix, Rogan said McGregor vs. Cerrone is on the verge of being official.

"Conor/Cowboy is a done deal as far as I know," he revealed.

During UFC 234 fight week, Cerrone continued to tease a bout against McGregor by saying it'll be for the interim lightweight title.

"It's definitely gonna be this year," Cerrone answered when asked about a fight versus McGregor.

"This summer, I think, right? Hey, Irish, Australian, American. F*ckin' root for whoever you want. I'm going in there to fight. I love it, man. I don't care - boo, cheer.

"I'm just gonna go out there and fight my ass off. Man, I really am. I'm definitely gonna stand and fight him. I'm not gonna try to wrestle him. I'm gonna f*ckin' stand and give y'all want you want to see."

Cerrone returned to the lightweight division in his last fight, and recorded his 22nd UFC victory after stopping budding prospect Alexander Hernandez.

McGregor immediately messaged 'Cowboy' after his brilliant win.

The Irishman was slapped with a six-month ban by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his part in the post-fight brawl which marred UFC 229.

But he's free to fight from April onwards with a summer date against Cerrone likely.
