And a 252lbs 'Bones' has shared a sneak peek and a first look at his heavyweight power on social media.

He uploaded a video of himself hitting the pads with coaches Brandon Gibson and Mike Winkeljohn.

Accompanied with the caption: "I feel like I move pretty good for a fat boy, I believe I'll be moving at my all-time best once I actually get in shape."

Needless to say, Jones' early form at heavyweight got MMA fans talking online.

One Twitter user wrote: "Damn he looks massive. Heavy shots too."

A second tweeted: "Bro this is actually terrifying lol."

A third added: "Fat boy? You're mostly fkn muscle. You're huge!

Another wrote: "That jab though."

Jones hasn't fought since his controversial victory over Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 back in February 2020.

He has since vacated his UFC light-heavyweight title as he plans his UFC heavyweight bow.

And it appears he will get a crack at the UFC heavyweight championship in his first outing at his new weight.

UFC president Dana White told TMZ Sports: "We know what he wants. He wants the winner of Stipe and Francis, so that fight has got to happen first.

"It should happen this year. It depends if that fight with Stipe and Francis goes off before summer. Then we could have (Jones vs. the winner) happen in the summertime."
