Khabib Nurmagomedov has slammed Dana White for saying he could be facing Conor McGregor in 2020.

The UFC President has laid out a plan for McGregor which eventually ends in a rematch with the Lightweight Champion.

But Khabib has been quick to squash all talk of a second fight with 'Notorious'.

He's called McGregor's return match against Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone 'minor leagues' as well as stating 'I decide who I fight'.

It seems the Russian isn't keen on facing off with McGregor in the near future.

McGregor will make his UFC return on January 18 when he faces off with Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone at UFC 246.

White told reporters on Wednesday that a rematch would depend on if the duo win their next two respective matches.

"If Conor can get through Cowboy, and Khabib can get through Tony, then we'd be looking at a rematch between Conor and Khabib down the line," White told BT Sport.

But it's clear to see that his ideas don't line up with those of Khabib.

He'll be defending his Lightweight Championship against Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 on April 18.

White does have a backup plan in case a rematch can't happen.

He's stated he'd consider booking McGregor against BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal at welterweight, while Khabib could face other lightweight contenders like Justin Gaethje.

'The Baldfather' told ESPN on Thursday:

"Conor has this idea too, that if things don't go his way, he'll have had a 170 [pound] fight in his pocket again, and [he's] considering a Masvidal fight.

"We'll get through the Cowboy fight [first]," White added. "The level of disrespect... People forget that Cowboy has lost two in a row before and come back and gone on unbelievable runs. So let's not count Cowboy out."

Do you think McGregor and Khabib will face off in 2020?
