Conor McGregor and Anderson Silva could meet in a huge superfight after the Irishman accepted the Brazilian's offer for a meeting at 176.37 lbs.

Former two weight UFC champion McGregor stirred the 'rivalry' when he named Silva as MMAs Greatest of All Time, and suggested he was second or 'tied first.'

The Brazilian took to Instagram on Wednesday night to challenge McGregor, saying, "SUPER FIGHT 176.37LBS.

"I have a huge admiration for the great athlete that Conor is and I believe this superfight would be something historic for the sport, neither of us has anything else to prove.

"I believe UFC and (MMA) fans would like to watch this great martial spectacle, testing my martial skills against him would be fantastic."

Now the Irishman has got everyone even more excited for a potential clash by 'accepting' the fight on Twitter, simply saying 'I accept.'

The 31-year-old said Anderson was the 'GOAT' because of his 'array of finishes, across 2 divisions, with champion status.'

Silva defended his middleweight title on 10 occasions between 2007 and 2013, when he finally lost the title to Chris Weidman, but has also fought at light heavyweight on numerous occasions.

The heaviest McGregor has fought at is welterweight, 170 lbs, whilst his rivals most recent fight was at 185 lbs and so late in his career and coming off recent surgery it would be incredible if he could get down to the catchweight to make the fight.
