Dana White hasn't responded too well to the idea that Conor McGregor could fight Manny Pacquiao, after the Irishman's cryptic tweet made people think the fight was on the cards.

It's just short of two months ago that McGregor retired from UFC for the third time in his relatively short career and since then all the talk has been about when he's going to come back.

On Saturday 'the Notorious' dropped a hint that he could be about to return to action, but in the ring and not in the octagon. Posting on Twitter he said 'I accept' in Filipino, leading to talk of a meeting with Pacquiao.

However, UFC president White doesn't seem too on board with the idea. Speaking at a press conference, following Saturday's Fight Night, White was asked about the potential match up, saying, "I don't care about any of that sh*t!"

McGregor doesn't tend to stay out of the limelight too often, even when he's claimed to have stepped away from the sport, especially when anything in UFC is connected to him.

However after Jorge Masvidal's loss to Kamaru Usman last month the former two weight UFC champion wasn't his usual loud self.

Now though the tweet in Filipino has got people on alert that he could be returning to the ring, after his previous fight against Floyd Mayweather back in 2017.

Pacquiao might be 41-years-old, and a senator in the Philippines, where he's also a hero, but he continues to defy his age when it comes to boxing.

Last year he defeated Adrien Broner and then beat the previously undefeated Keith Thurman to capture the WBA (super) welterweight title.

There has been talk of unification fights with WBO champion Terence Crawford as well as former IBF title challenger Mikey Garcia.

White has previously said that the fight between Masvidal and McGregor would likely be the biggest fight in UFC that he could put on, and also named the Irishman as likely one of two options for Khabib Nurmagomedov's final fight.

However it seems more likely that the Russian will face Justin Gaethje and then UFC legend Georges St Pierre for his final two fights.
