Hazard Has Revealed That Cole Played A Massive Part In His Move To Chelsea
Eden Hazard has revealed former Chelsea player Joe Cole played a massive part in his decision to join the Blues.
Cole spent the 2011/12 season on loan at Ligue 1 side, where Hazard was then plying his trade.
It was the Belgians last season at the club before moving to West London and he, today, revealed that the former Chelsea star was a key reason in him moving to Stamford Bridge.
"I spoke to him before I signed for Chelsea. Every day, seriously, he was telling me that Chelsea was the best club for me," Hazard told Chelsea's official Twitter page.
"He said Chelsea was a big club where you can trophies every season. For that reason, I signed, so thank you, Joe Cole!"
Cole, who today announced his retirement from football, spent seven years at The Bridge and won three Premier League trophies and two FA Cups.
The English International also had spells at West Ham, Liverpool, Lille, Aston Villa, Coventry and Tampa Bay Rowdies during his 20-year career.
Meanwhile, Hazard is entering the last year of his Chelsea contract and his brother, Thorgan, believes his elder sibling made the right decision to avoid joining Real Madrid in the summer as the team in transition.
However, he did hint that Eden might make the move to the Spanish giants in the summer, speaking ahead of Belgium's upcoming fixtures, Thorgan said: "I know him and he's not thinking about a move right now.
"In any case Real Madrid are in Transition. He'll wait and give his best, then see what happens at the end of the season.
"He doesn't want to clash with Chelsea. If he does go one day he'll do it in the correct way, without problems for the club."
The Chelsea star is 1/40 to still be at Stamford Bridge by the end of the January transfer window, while a move to the Santiago Bernabeu by February 1 st is 9/1.
