Oasis are now more likely than ever to reunite in 2018 - if the bookies are to be believed, with the latest odds from William Hill suggesting that the Gallagher brothers are ready to bury the hatchet next year.

According to the bookies, increased speculation of a 2018 reunion has prompted them to slash the odds of the brothers performing live together to just 2/1, having been as high as 8/1 yesterday.

For those wondering what counts as 'Oasis', the bookies will cough up if both of the brothers perform together with any other band members at any UK gig or festival next year.

"Every year, there is chat about Oasis getting back together but every year, it is swatted away, however, with a thawing in their frosty relationship 2018 could be the year," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

The former Oasis frontman Liam, who released his debut solo album 'As You Were' earlier this year, wished his sibling Noel a Merry Christmas on Twitter.

The Gallagher brothers split back in the summer of 2009 with Noel stating that he could no longer work with his brother Liam with the final straw for the band coming at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris that year when a "fight" broke out backstage between the two brothers - subsequently described by Noel as "no physical violence but there was a lot of World Wrestling Federation stuff".

This caused the gig to be cancelled at the last minute with Noel revealing the next day he had quit the band to the shock and disappointment to their massive worldwide fanbase.

The last few years have seen a number of public spats between the brothers with many thinking that the relationship had broken down beyond repair, but for those who follow the money, today's move from the bookies could seem like the most likely sign yet that the Gallagher brothers will finally give fans what they've been missing in 2018.
