Novak Djokovic has revealed what Carlos Alcaraz told him before his Australian Open semi-final victory over Jannik Sinner.
Djokovic will meet Alcaraz in the Australian Open final after he came out on top in a five-set thriller vs the world number two.
Sinner pushed Djokovic all the way as the Serb came from behind on two occasions to book his chance for a historic 25th major victory on Sunday.
The 38-year-old survived eight break points in the fifth set that took the match to 1:30am local time, and thanked his supporters including Aussie legend Margaret Court.

“Some legends stayed up to 2 a.m, Margaret Court, thanks so much for being here," he said after his impressive win.
“I cannot think the people here enough for their support. You have been incredible tonight.
“I love our passionate relationship, every year something different happens. Tonight has been maybe the best night of support I've ever had in Australia," Djokovic added.

In his post-match interview the former world number one also recounted a chat he had with fellow finalist Alcaraz, whose five-set semi-final delayed the start of Djokovic's match.
"I saw Carlos after the match and he told me 'I'm sorry to delay the start of your match', he revealed.
Djokovic responded: "I need to go to sleep."
The Serbian admitted the final against Alcaraz will be a tough challenge despite beating the Spaniard on two of their last three meetings.
"I'm looking forward to seeing him in a few days," Djokovic added.
"I know I have to come back in less than a couple of days and fight the No.1 in the world.
"I just hope I have enough gas to stay toe to toe with him, that’s my desire. And then let God decide the winner," he finished.
Sunday will be Djokovic's first appearance in a Grand Slam final since his defeat to Alcaraz in 2024, with his last Grand Slam victory coming in the 2023 US Open.
