Fans on social media are divided after Nick Kyrgios appeared to take aim at Wimbledon winner Jannik Sinner following his victory over Carlos Alcaraz.

Despite losing the first set 6-4, Sinner took complete control of Sunday's final winning the next three sets by the same scoreline to secure his maiden title.

Alcaraz was uncharacteristically inconsistent on serve throughout the match, and took his frustration out with a damning comment to his team in the third set.

Sinner's victory ended a five match losing streak against the Spaniard, but not everyone was impressed with the 23-year-old's performance.

What did Nick Kyrgios post after Wimbledon?

Following the match, Wimbledon 2022 finalist Kyrgios made an ambiguous post of an '*' on X, which fans are convinced is linked to the three month doping ban Sinner served earlier in the year.

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) found Sinner was inadvertently contaminated with the banned substance clostebol in March of 2024, which lead to his ban.

Following an investigation surrounding the circumstances of the breach Sinner was cleared of wrongdoing by an independent tribunal.

Kyrgios had already made his feelings clear on Sinner's involvement in this year's tournament claiming it was a 'bad look for the sport' adding to speculation his tweet was a dig at the Italian.

One fan agreed: "A huge asterisk on this years Wimbledon."

Another posted: "100% the take on this Wimbledon. Well said."

"Finally someone mentioning it, we are all thinking it," a third added.

However, not everyone was impressed with the Australian's antics with many calling him out in the comments.

One fan wrote: "This is such a jealous thing to post."

Another added: "Keep tweeting bro... While Jannik lifts trophies."

A third argued: "How is there an asterisk when he has not committed any doping violation? You could say there is one from before his ban but he’s regularly tested now. He dominated fair and square."
