Carlos Alcaraz has previously settled the Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer GOAT debate.

Over the years, it has been well documented that Djokovic, Nadal and Federer are three of the very best players to ever grace the tennis world.

The trio have won a combined total of 66 Grand Slam titles and five Olympic gold medals.

Statistically, Djokovic could be the undisputed GOAT of tennis due to the fact that he has won the most Grand Slam titles. However, fans of Nadal and Federer will have other ideas.

While Nadal and Federer have already called time on their careers, Djokovic is still going strong and is set to take on young gun Alcaraz in the semi-final of the US Open at Flushing Meadows.

Alcaraz will head into the clash as the favourite, but you can never count Djokovic out.

Speaking back in July 2024, Alcaraz was put on the spot to name the sport's best-ever player.

He said to the ATP Tour: "As far as numbers, it's Novak Djokovic without a doubt. The other two, [Roger] Federer and Rafa [Nadal]. For me, they're tops." You can watch the footage below.

Alcaraz was also asked whether he is aiming to break Djokovic's record of 24 Grand Slam titles.

As per Tennis 365, the Spaniard said to the BBC: "Yes, of course. I am an ambitious guy.

"I know it is almost impossible to break Novak’s records, but I’m playing tennis for myself, for joy and I want to do great things. I want to be part of tennis history."

Prior to retiring from the sport last year, Nadal agreed with Alcaraz that Djokovic is the GOAT.

He said to AS: "He’s a player who has managed to maintain a very high level and improve every year. The numbers show he’s the best, which means his tennis has also been the best.

"And he’s been the most injury-free, which allowed him to maintain his physical, mental, and tennis levels longer than anyone. That’s why he’s the best, and he’s earned it."
