England are still fighting to finish as high as possible in the Six Nations as they prepare to travel to France on the final day of the competition.
They have no chance of winning any silverware from this season’s competition after losing the Calcutta Cup to Scotland, ending their hopes of that trophy or the Triple Crown before Ireland brought their Six Nations chances to a close in Twickenham.
Steve Borthwick will now be exploring his options throughout the summer and autumn this year as he prepares England for the next Six Nations and then the World Cup in 2027.
However, he will be without one player who has been a reliable servant at both club and international levels.

Ben Curry has confirmed that his season is over due to injury on Instagram, which will be devastating news for both England and Sale Sharks.

He said on Instagram: “Gutted to say that my season is over.
“Been a tough few months already; however, I'm feeling really positive about next steps and can’t wait to get cracking with the rehab.”
Curry has struggled with injury this season, missing the Quilter Nations Series after surgery on his hamstring, but returned to action in December for Sale Sharks in the Champions Cup before being sidelined again.
The 27-year-old had been named alongside his twin brother Tom in Borthwick’s squad for this year’s competition, but he did not travel to Girona for the camp before the competition.
There is no date given as a potential return, meaning that it is possible he could miss England’s Tests in the summer when they face South Africa, Fiji and Argentina.

Curry will not be able to help Sale for the remainder of the season either, with the club still hoping to battle to lift the Champions Cup as they have reached the knockouts.
Meanwhile, their hopes of lifting the PREM seem over already with the club sitting eighth in the table.
This is not what the Sale captain would have hoped for after becoming a key part of Borthwick’s side last year, but he will understand that there will be a chance to re-establish himself in the squad following his rehabilitation.
