The Sydney Roosters look set for a big boost in their forward pack this weekend with Victor Radley “right to go” just three weeks after fracturing his scapula.

It’s been an absolute injury nightmare for the Roosters at the back end of the season.

Sam Walker and Brandon Smith both sustained ACL injuries in round 26, while Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was suspended for a number of weeks.

They get Jared back this week, but an unexpected green light came when Radley was named in the extended squad to take on the Sea Eagles.

To put this in perspective, Cooper Cronk fractured his scapula the week before the 2018 NRL Grand Final and notably played that game with only one functioning arm.

He also underwent surgery after that Grand Final which kept him on ice for months.

“Yeah he’s right to go,” Head Coach Trent Robinson asked about Radley’s inclusion to the side.

“He’s got one more thing to tick off this morning, but yeah he’ll be ready to go.

“He plays a high intensity style of play and he’s key to how we want to play.”

The Roosters will take on the Sea Eagles for a huge do-or-die final at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.
