What punishment Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ali Carter face amid bitter feud as review planned

What punishment Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ali Carter face amid bitter feud as review planned

Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ali Carter have exchanged digs following Sunday's Masters final.

Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ali Carter are set to be investigated by snooker chiefs following their explosive row in the Masters final.

O'Sullivan beat Carter 10-7 to win a record-extending eighth Masters title on Sunday.

But the showdown has since been marred by the war of words between the snooker stars.

'The Rocket' took aim at 'The Captain' following their match, claiming he was 'turned on' in the final as he aimed a dig.

Carter hit back as he accused the legendary player of 'snotting all over the floor' in a stinging attack.

"There were a couple of things that happened out there that go unnoticed," he said.

"Well, they don’t go unnoticed but anyone with an eyesight or a brain can see what’s going on. And it’s disgusting quite frankly.

"No-one wants to say anything, do they? Snotting all over the floor and all that."

The 44-year-old added: "I mean it’s outrageous behaviour from a top professional. If it gets swept under the carpet then for me, it’s not good.

"Did we have any words of exchange? No. I’ve got no words for him at all."

O'Sullivan subsequently fired back, telling him to 'grow some balls'.

Footage of the moment that sparked the bitter feud between the players has since emerged amid their back-and-forth.

The verbal exchange between O'Sullivan and Carter could land them in hot water as they both could face punishment for their comments, according to reports via The Sun.

The World Snooker Tour is set to review the incident as they could hand out monetary fines.

O'Sullivan slammed Carter for his 'snot' accusation, claiming his rival has 'issues' and needs to 'sort his life out'.

The 48-year-old exclaimed: "He's got issues mate, I'm telling you.

"He's got to go and sort his life out. He's got to go and see a councillor.

"He's got to deal with that because that ain't no good. I don't take to him, I haven't spoken to him for 20 years.

"I played with him as a kid you know, I shared a lot of stuff with him. So for him to kind of come out and start trying to talk to me and trash talk like that... do you know what? He can have one of them [sticks middle finger up]. He can sit on it as far as I'm concerned.

"You know what he's like, everyone knows what he's like. He's got issues."
