What a remarkable story.

Australian runner Turia Pitt is responsible for one of the most inspiring stories you will ever come across.

The 29-year old was hit with burns to 65% of her body and told she would never compete again after being trapped in a bushfire back when taking part in a marathon in 2011. She had four fingers and a thumb amputated as a result.

However, Pitt bounced back in stunning fashion when following on from 200 operations, she completed the mountain of a challenge in Hawaii on Sunday.

Back in May, she completed her first Ironman since that tragic incident and now she has gone one step further with her incredible comeback.

Ms Pitt finished with a time of 14:37:30 having taken part in a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and 42km run.

A truly astonishing story saw Turia complete the Ironman, said to be one of the toughest tests, just five years after being told she would never run again.

Simply incredible.
