When Holly Holm delivered the knockout blow to the side of Ronda Rousey's head it was the kick heard around the world. It left the previously undefeated Rousey an absolute broken mess and left us all wondering how does she come back from this?
UFC's biggest star hadn't been seen since until her appearance on Saturday Night Live last weekend, where she congratulated Holm on her world championship win. With the former Olympian set to turn her attentions to interests outside the ring for the short term we don't know when she'll be back.
Some had suggested UFC 200 however her coach, Edmond Tarverdyan, seemed to rule out the July return saying: "I don't see it in July at this point."
He also revealed he expects her to take quite a while out of the sport: "If you watch her career, she was fighting back-to-back. Even her amateur fights, she took a lot of fights back-to-back. Of course, she got [quick] finishes, but it's not only about the ring time, it's about the training...Ronda has been through a lot. She's had knee surgeries ... and we don't want to end up with the same thing, having another knee surgery, so we need to relax a little bit, take our time and get her in better shape slowly and mentally and physically"
