From packed arenas in New York and LA to growing fanbases in London and Berlin, in recent years the NBA has become so much more than just an American league.

And it’s going to be easier than ever to watch as it lands on Amazon’s Prime Video for the very first time this month, with the option to sign up for a free trial and stream for as little as 20p a day thereafter.

Yep, Amazon has confirmed that Prime Video will be the new home of the NBA in the UK and Ireland, with 86 regular-season games available to stream, plus exclusive coverage of marquee events like the Emirates NBA Cup and the NBA Finals.

How to watch the NBA on Prime Video in the UK

All coverage is included with your Prime membership, meaning you won’t need any add-ons or passes. You can tune in via tablets, smartphones, smart TVs, Fire TV devices or any other Prime Video-compatible platform. Just head to the ‘Sports’ tab and scroll down to ‘live and upcoming events’ to find each game.

Prime membership costs £8.99 per month or £95 a year, and new members can even start with a 30-day free trial.

If you only want Prime Video, that’s £5.99 per month (equivalent to 20p a day) on its own.

When does the NBA season start?

The inaugural season tips off on 25 October with a huge doubleheader: the New York Knicks hosting the Boston Celtics at 12.30am BST, followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves taking on the Los Angeles Lakers at 3am BST.

Prime members will also get exclusive access to the NBA Berlin and London Games, taking place on 15 January and 18 January, featuring the Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies.

And it doesn’t stop there - Prime Video will also stream the 2026 SoFi Play-In Tournament, one-third of the first and second round Playoff games and a Conference Finals series, all leading up to the NBA Finals in June 2026, which will be shown exclusively on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland for the very first time.
