MLB commentators stunned after x-rated crowd moment forced cameras to cut away

The baseball commentators were silenced by bad behaviour on the bleachers

Saturday's fifth inning in the Major League Baseball meeting between the Athletics and the Texas Rangers was enlivened by a surprising incident in the stands.

Sports fans are prone to all sorts of unacceptable behaviour when they realise they're on camera. Smiling, waving and throwing up the heart-shaped international symbol of being absolutely basic are all beyond the pale and should be cracked down upon by the authorities.

But a man and a woman watching on with the Rangers 5-2 ahead at the top of the fifth shocked the NBC commentators into silence when they got acquainted in between nibbles of ballpark choc ice.

The affectionate gentleman, whose baseball cap was wearing sunglasses, was sitting next to the woman when the cameras innocently hesitated on them and he decided a subtle bunt was in order.

"The couple were eating snacks and talking to each other and then the man, clearly aware the camera was focused on them, decided to grab the woman's breast," reports the Daily Mail.

The NBC announcers managed to hold it together for long enough to apologise to the fans watching at home before falling silent.

"There was then barely anything said between them for the next 30 seconds and, when one of them eventually broke the silence to comment on a hit, it was clear they had been laughing hysterically."

The female fan giggled in the grope of the capped Casanova before the NBC coverage cut back to the action back in the diamond.

We can assume from the lack of shocked reaction that the smirking character rounding second base on television wasn't the CEO of a tech company enjoying a night out at the ball game with his colleagues.

The Rangers won 9-3 to claim their fourth consecutive victory. They sit in third place in the American League West after 137 games.

It's been a less successful campaign for the A's, who are fifth in the AL West with 63 wins from 137 games.

They meet again in West Sacramento on Sunday, when the director in the TV truck will presumably be keeping a keen eye out for any inappropriate adult tickling on screen.
