A video of Gout Gout and Noah Lyles doing a block start ahead of their much-anticipated showdown at the Ostrava Golden Spike in Czechia has become a big talking point on social media.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Olympic 100m champion Lyles will come up against under-20 200m record-holder Gout in a 150m race at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting on June 16.
Lyles, who has never raced in Ostrava, will be hoping to overtake Kishane Thompson's 150m best of 14.92, which was recorded at the Miramar Invitational in Florida last month.
Gout, meanwhile, will return to Czechia after winning the 200m in 20.02 seconds last June.

The 18-year-old, who is widely regarded as the most talented sprinter of his generation, became the first Australian to break the 20-second barrier at 200m on April 12, clocking a time of 19.67 seconds.
It was a headline-making sprint from Gout, who ran 200m faster than Usain Bolt did at the same age, and he will be hoping to make an impression alongside some of the elite in Ostrava next month.
Training footage of Gout Gout and Noah Lyles emerges
Ahead of the race, Gout and Lyles have been training together in the United States, with both sprinters performing block starts on the track.
A spectator filmed the scene and now, footage of the race has emerged online which shows Lyles making a notably stronger start than Gout, who appears to make up the distance later on.
One fan commented on the clip, saying: "Gout doesn't stand a chance in 100m professional race. He needs time to work on the blocks," and a second said: "This goes a long way in the development of Gout."
A third wrote: "Gout is a last 60 meter threat like Bolt was. He can actually beat Lyles…remember Bolt never had a good start. He made up for it that last 60 meters which blew out the other runners."
A fourth said: "He’ll get better over time but it’s worth noting Lyles isn’t noted for being an exceptional starter so it tells you how far Gout Gout has to go," and a fifth added: "If he works on his start out the blocks, he would definitely beat Noah tbh."
Noah Lyles gave Gout Gout key piece of career advice and it involves saying no
Back in the summer of 2025, Gout jetted out to train with fellow Adidas athlete Lyles for two weeks and was met with a new-level of intensity.
"The athletes there are obviously a lot faster and a lot stronger," Gout told Highflyer in an in-depth feature interview. "So you always have to bring your A-game. You always have to, like, lock in and focus.”
Gout also spoke about the advice Lyles gave him. “Noah was telling me to always be myself and be level-headed, for sure but to learn how to say no, especially in situations with fans," he added.
