Why Angry Ginge Won't Be Awarded Cash Prize if He Wins I'm A Celebrity final

We are approaching the end of the 25th season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, and the race to be named king or queen of the jungle is heating up.

Lisa Riley was the fifth celebrity to be eliminated from the popular reality show with Aitch becoming the final campmate to leave in the penultimate episode of this year's show.

Eastenders star Shona McGarty and Tom Read Wilson are all through to the final alongside social media star and favourite to win the show Angry Ginge.

Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, became famous for his FIFA and football-related content on Twitch and YouTube, becoming one of the online world’s biggest stars in recent years.

He has also played a role in the formation of the Baller League UK, a six-a-side football competition that brings together the worlds of culture, media, and sport.

His internet fame mean he remains the favourite to win this year's show and be named king of the jungle.

Winning the show will not mean Ginge wins any extra prize money however, as contestants are paid a flat appearance fee.

All they have to do to ensure that they receive the money is remain in the jungle for 72 hours.

As a result, the amount of money that contestants are paid is not impacted by where they finish in the public vote.

Previous winners such as Stacey Solomon, Joe Swash, and Jill Scott have all enjoyed successful careers after taking part in the show.

Ginge's sister Tasha said that taking part in the reality show has always been on his bucket list.

"I knew it was on his bucket list, something he never thought he'd actually get to do, so I was just really happy for him," she told the BBC.

"He's surprised me with all the things he's done in there.

"I couldn't be any prouder of him.”
