Josh Allen Reveals Why He Throws Up Before and During Every NFL Game

The quarterback starred in Sunday's comeback victory for the Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has explained why he throws up during every NFL game after footage went viral during their dramatic comeback victory over the New England Patriots.

The Bills went into Sunday's game knowing a win was essential to keep their hopes of winning the AFC East division title alive.

At halftime, the Bills appeared to be heading for defeat as they trailed 24-7, but four consecutive touchdown drives completed an impressive second-half comeback as Buffalo secured a 35-31 victory.

Allen was at the heart of the turnaround, throwing two touchdowns and prompting speculation that he could be named NFL MVP for a second consecutive season.

Following the win, Bills head coach Sean McDermott was full of praise for his quarterback, suggesting he should be considered a frontrunner for the award.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, he said: "I don’t do a very good job of knowing what’s going on around the league, but I can’t, in my mind, imagine anybody else has done more for their team on a more consistent basis than Josh Allen.

"I mean, who out there is playing better?"

Despite being one of the NFL's best players, Allen admits he still struggles to control his nerves in big games.

With just under 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the 29-year-old was seen vomiting near the Buffalo bench, sparking concern among fans watching on.

However, Allen was quick to reassure supporters that it was nothing out of the ordinary.

"It basically happens every game," he said.

"If I don't get enough out pre-game it usually happens at half-time.

"If it doesn't happen at half time it usually happens in the third or fourth quarter.

"I don't know why I do it, it just happens."

Sunday was not the first time that Allen has spoken about his pre-game routine, having previously outlined the three essential things he must do before a match.

Speaking to Elliot Georgiadis on TikTok, Allen said: "Throw up, listen to my playlist and drink water."

Georgiadis appeared taken aback by the response and pressed Allen on whether he throws up before every game.

Allen replied: "Every game day.

"Right after pre-game, I come in the locker room, go do my deal, listen to my music, drink some water and some mouthwash."

Despite the impressive comeback, the Bills remain firm outsiders in the race for the AFC East title.

They are currently one win behind the Patriots, who still have two divisional games remaining against the AFC East's bottom teams - the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets.

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is currently ahead of Allen in the NFL MVP race, but that could change depending on how the AFC East title race unfolds.
