'Not Been The Same' - Former US President Donald Trump's Relationship With One Sporting Icon 'Split' Due To A Supermodel

According to Jonathan Martin's book, Donald Trump had allegedly told a friend that his daughter Ivanka could have married Tom Brady.

Former United States President Donald Trump saw his relationship with Tom Brady ‘splinter’ after the NFL legend’s marriage to supermodel Gisele Bundchen, according to a new book.

Brady, who called it time on his remarkable playing career last month, started dating the Brazilian supermodel back in 2006 before they tied the knot in 2009.

The 44-year-old NFL icon and 41-year-old Bundchen welcomed the arrival of their son, Benjamin Rein, in 2009 before their daughter, Vivian Lake, was born in 2012.

Brady revealed in 2017 that Trump had been “very supportive of me for a long time” and the pair would sometimes call each other.

“I have called him, yes, in the past. Sometimes he calls me. Sometimes I call,” he told The Washington Post.

“But, again, that’s been someone I’ve known. I always try to keep it in context because for 16 years you know someone before maybe he was in the position that he was in.

“He’s been very supportive of me for a long time. It’s just a friendship. I have a lot of friends. I call a lot of people.”

Trump and Brady’s rift was once again spotlighted with an excerpt released from Jonathan Martin’s upcoming book, This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future.

According to Yahoo!, Martin claimed that Brady made lifestyle changes after marrying Bundchen, which included a new healthy diet.

But the change didn’t seem to sit well with a foodie like Trump, who felt the seven-time Super Bowl champ had “not been the same” since Brady switched his diet.

“The football star, Trump said, had not been the same after marrying Gisele Bundchen, who insisted on cooking him a painstakingly health-conscious diet,” Martin wrote.

Martin’s book also claimed that Trump allegedly told a friend at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia that Brady could have married his daughter Ivanka ahead of son-in-law Jared Kushner.

He wrote: “Jared, Trump told a friend at his Virginia golf course, was ‘the smartest guy I’ve ever seen in my life. … Can’t throw a football ten yards, and Ivanka coulda married Tom Brady,’ Trump said, according to the friend.

“But he’s a great kid, he’s got my back.”

Brady revealed that Trump had invited him to speak at the 2016 Republican National Convention, but he rejected the offer from the 75-year-old American.

“He wanted me to speak at that convention too,” he told The Howard Stern Show in 2020.

“It was probably very similar to the relationship that you had with him.”
