Conan O'Brien made a risky joke when hosting the 2025 Oscars.

Conan O'Brien stunned viewers with his controversial joke at the 2025 Oscars as he referenced the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

O'Brien hosted this year's Oscars in what was his debut of hosting Hollywood's biggest night.

And he made an instant impression as he issued shock digs at Karla Sofia Gascon's tweet scandal and Timothee Chalamet's outfit during his opening monologue.

The 61-year-old called out the Best Actress nominee, who has been slammed after her racist tweets resurfaced and went viral.

He also poked fun at A Complete Unknown Best Actor nominee Chalamet, who was sat next to his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, joking his yellow suit would ensure 'no bikes hit him'.

O'Brien also made an unexpected joke about the Lamar vs. Drake beef, which was intensified at this year's Super Bowl.

Lamar performed the half-time show and played some of his chart-topping songs, including his diss track against Drake, 'Not Like Us'.

The track features multiple references to Drake's alleged interactions with younger women.

Responding to Lamar's claims that he is a 'certified paedophile', Drake previously said his rival rapper was spreading false information by 'misdirecting sh*t' and defended himself by saying he is 'too famous' to get away with such allegations.

At the half-way point of the Oscars, O'Brien ruthlessly addressed the situation, saying: “Well, we're halfway through the show, which means it's time for Kendrick Lamar to come out and call Drake a pedophile.

"Don't worry I'm lawyered up," he concluded.

O'Brien's joke shocked viewers and the crowd, who could be heard gasping in shock.

He swiftly changed the topic as he paid tribute to the ceremony's orchestra, which featured a sand worm from Dune playing the harp.

Needless to say, O'Brien's risky joke got people online talking.

On X, Shea Serrano wrote: "Drake catching strays at the oscars too???"

Film critic Jourdain Searle added: "Drake even getting whacked at the oscars."

Charlotte Clymer joked: "Drake hits the Triple Crown: getting dunked on at the Grammys, Super Bowl, and Oscars all in the same year."

Another commented: "Drake is the first mfer to ever get demolished at the Oscars and the Super Bowl. It's so over for him dude."
