Victor Wembanyama once again demonstrated his class against the Indiana Pacers continued their strong preseason form ahead of the NBA tip-off next week.

The Spurs claimed a 124-108 win over the Pacers, following victories over the Miami Heat and Utah Jazz.

It means they remain unbeaten in preseason, with three wins from three games. One of the biggest positives from the latest game was the performance of Wembanyama, who looks ready to take another step up this year.

The 21-year-old Frenchman enjoyed a strong campaign last year, which saw him named as an All Star. And he has continued to perform at a high level during pre-season, with last night's match no exception.

He was excellent during his 24 minutes on the court, scoring nine times of his 13 field goal attempts attempts, including two of three from three-point range.

From the free throw line he was perfect, making all seven of his attempts. He was also impressively defensively, grabbing nine defensive rebounds.

How did fans react on social media?

Wembanyama''s latest display caught the attention of fans on social media, with many of them full of praise for the Frenchman.

On X, one fan @LegionHoops wrote: "Good luck, NBA. Wemby is coming different this season."

Another user @mlinc13 added: "If he stays healthy I believe he’ll definitely finish top 5 this season…"

However, not everyone was entirely convinced,, with some pointing out to his seven turnovers as a statistic that was a significant concern.

@precibaby4 posted: "7 turnovers?? Bro, Wemby’s out there playing hot potato with the ball more than basketball!

"Good luck explaining that stat sheet to the coach. I Hope he likes his donuts with extra frosting."

Others urged caution, reminding supporters that it remains early days into the season.

"It’s preseason against a team that’s starting a center that wouldn’t be a backup for a lot of teams," @BleedBlueUConn added.

"He’s gonna be elite but let’s calm down."

How will the San Antonio Spurs do this year?

Despite their encouraging preseason , the Spurs remain huge outsiders to make the Finals.

But they will be pleased with how the team, and especially Wembanyama have performed during pre-season.

The Spurs will face the Pacers again in their final pre season fixture before they start their regular season against the Dallas Mavericks on October 22.

Although Wembanyama was excellent in last night's game, he will need more performances at that level to convince fans that the Spurs could reach the Finals.
