Russell Westbrook gets into heated exchange with Phoenix Suns fan in front of young kid

Russell Westbrook has been captured on camera getting into a heated exchange with Phoenix Suns fan.

The fiery confrontation appeared to happen in front of a young boy too.

Westbrook's Los Angeles Clippers were taking on the Suns in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs.

The Clippers ended up winning Game 1 115-110, but the encounter was marred by an ugly incident at half-time.

According to Sports Illustrated, Westbrook was returning to the court after halftime when a Suns fans "said something that caught his attention".

A verbal altercation then broke out when a visibly-upset Westbrook confronted the man.

"Watch your mouth," Westbrook yelled.

"Watch your mouth mother f**ker!"

The Suns fan then stood up out his chair while a security tried to split the pair up.

"Take it like a man," the fan said.

"Talk about it, be about it!"

Westbrook repeated what he said a few more times before eventually being ushered away by arena security.

Someone in the vicinity recorded the incident and posted it to Twitter.

"Russ is such a good dude," the caption read.

The user added: "Russ going at a fan at 1/2 time next to me. No idea what caused it."

When the clip was posted online, it instantly blew up, racking up over one million views in less than an hour on Twitter alone.

Neither Russ nor the Clippers organisation has commented on the matter yet, although the Suns did.

"We are aware of the incident that happened tonight and are conducting a review," a statement read.

Interestingly, instead of commenting on the exchange itself, some fans couldn't take their eyes off the young kid devouring his half-time snack.

One person commented: "Nobody was going to interrupt this kid from eating. Complete focus, like a champ."

While another added: "Ham kid knew the score - eat like it’s the last time you get invited."

As a third said: "Watching that kid continue to eat while it happens makes me still laugh my ass off.

Westbrook ended the game with nine points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as well as two steals and three blocks.
