The stunning figure Michael Jordan's wife will receive if they get divorced as unusual contract revealed

The stunning figure Michael Jordan's wife will receive if they get divorced as unusual contract revealed

Michael Jordan married Yvette Prieto back in 2013 and they have twin girls together, Victoria and Ysabel.

Michael Jordan wife could receive an eye-watering settlement if the pair decide to divorce.

Jordan, 61, has had to endure the ordeal once before, with his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy earning a tidy sum of $168 million.

But having since engaged in a new relationship since, it is clear the former NBA star has learnt from his lessons.

Rumours have surfaced recently if everything was to go pear-shaped with Prieto, how much would she be entitled too?

According to law specialists Kajko, Weisman and Colasanti, LLP, 46-year-old Prieto would take home $1million for every year of their marriage.

"Under the terms of the prenuptial agreement, his wife will get $1 million for each year they remain married, but if they stay married for more than ten years then she will receive the tidy sum of $5 million per year of marriage," states their website. "In Jordan’s previous divorce he ended up paying his wife approximately $168 million, as well as giving her custody of their three children. She also got to keep the marital home, a sprawling 25,000 square foot estate in Chicago."

Having met at a Miami nightclub back in 2008, it is clear Jordan is being a little more careful this time around.

Despite their 16-year age gap, the former Washington Wizards legend tied the knot for the second time in 2013.

Prieto's entitlement would amount to $50 million if they were to divorce today, reflecting Jordan’s careful planning to protect his assets.

In 2023, Jordan’s net worth surged to $3.5 billion. This was largely due to the sale of his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets.

“Although my love for the game of basketball and the NBA remain strong, now is the right time for me to hand over the reins and focus on my family, my personal interests and some new challenges,” said Jordan on the matter.

“I’m excited to see what the future holds, and I look forward to supporting the team and the community in my new role for many years to come.

“This is a thank you, not a goodbye, because the state of North Carolina, the city of Charlotte and the Hornets will always have a special place in my heart.”
