Joe Exotic calls for president Joe Biden to release him from prison after Brittney Griner trade

Joe Exotic calls for president Joe Biden to release him from prison after Brittney Griner trade

Joe Exotic called the exchange between Brittney Griner and Russian firearms dealer Viktor Bout "a slap in every American’s face".

Joe Exotic, AKA 'The Tiger King', has seen what's unfolded with the Brittney Griner situation and believes the same steps should be undertaken to release him from prison too.

Last week, professional basketball player Griner was set free from custody in Russia after the United States government struck a deal to swap her for a notorious Russian firearms dealer by the name of Viktor Bout.

The exchange between the two nations has been widely criticised with many people questioning why WNBA star Griner got special treatment over anyone else.

Joe Exotic is one of those critics, calling out Joe Biden and urging the U.S. president to release him.

“The whole Brittney Griner and Trevor Reed prisoner swap is a slap in every American’s face that is wrongfully detained in the American federal prison system, including myself,” he says in audio obtained by TMZ.

“A dangerous man was released for Brittney Griner to be free. It’s time Joe Exotic gets to go home for Christmas to be home with [boyfriend] Seth and his son for the first time in five Christmases.”

Joe Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, is currently serving a 21-year sentence after being found guilty of hiring a hit man to kill his documentary co-star Carole Baskin.

“I have officially landed at the bottom of hell, at the Federal Prison in Atlanta GA,” he said via Instagram last month.

“Senator Ossoff [sic], Warnock and Walker are all lying to you Black Voters of Georgia because the Animals at the Atlanta Zoo are living better than your loved ones are in here I promise.”
