The internet remains undefeated.

News that Kevin Durant will not be traded away from the Brooklyn Nets sent internet sleuths into overdrive – and there was one person they all decided to target.

With Durant agreeing to 'move forward' with the team, all eyes turned to his teammates – and in particular, Ben Simmons.

The Aussie is yet to play for the Nets following his lengthy holdout with the Philadelphia 76ers.

So when news broke that both KD and Kyrie Irving would be staying in Brooklyn, Simmons' name instantly started trending on Twitter with social media users wasting no time in conjuring up some hilarious memes that best reflected their feelings on the situation.

“We have agreed to move forward with our partnership. We are focusing on basketball, with one collective goal in mind: build a lasting franchise to bring a championship to Brooklyn.”
