Paddy Pimblett 'Knocked Out' In Charity Boxing Debut

Paddy Pimblett took part in his first boxing match for charity, with clips of the encounter shared on social media.

UFC superstar Paddy Pimblett suffered a 'knockout' in his boxing debut for charity.

Pimblett returns to action inside the Octagon in the main event of UFC 324 when he locks horns with Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title on January 24 in a huge start to 2026.

His last bout was at UFC 314 in Miami when he recorded a stunning victory over Michael Chandler.

But 'The Baddy', who recently forced Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester City defender Micah Richards to tap out, stepped inside the ring for a special bout on Thursday.

He made the switch to the squared circle at The Dome at Grand Central Hall for a charity event put on by the No Limits Gym.

The disability boxing show so Pimblett go up against George Goetzee, a boxer with down syndrome who goes by 'the real GGG' in a nod to the great Gennady Golovkin.

Goetzee fought former WBA interim lightweight champion Derry Mathews in 2017 and the 42-year-old is responsible for setting up a 'disability boxing squad’ designed to bring about inclusivity for those with learning difficulties, cerebral palsy, autism and more.

Goetzee has been a key part of it and his next opponent was one of UFC's fastest rising stars. Doing his bit for charity and showing his class, Pimblett mixed it up for a couple of rounds and was then involved in a playful knockout after a right hand.

Goetzee was declared the winner by knockout and the two had their hand raised by the referee in a wonderful post-match moment.

Pimblett then put Goetzee on his shoulders and paraded him around the ring in celebration.

Pimblett must cut extra pound for Gaethje bout

Pimblett takes on Gaethje in his first ever UFC main event on a stacked card to kick off the new era of fights on Paramount, who bagged a $7.7 billion deal.

The bout has been made after Pimblett's long-time rival Ilia Topuria confirmed he would not be defending his lightweight title in the first part of 2026 as he navigates through personal issues.

Pimblett is looking to capture gold and become first in line for Topuria's belt. But in order to be eligible to win the interim UFC lightweight title, the 30-year-old needs to weigh in at or below the exact limit of 155lbs.

Unlike in non-title fights when one-pound leeway is allowed, Pimblett would lose his title opportunity if he did not make the specified weight.

Known for his drastic weight cuts, Pimblett came in at 156lbs last time out and therefore has to cut an extra pound next month.
