Jon Jones has finally responded to the one question everyone has been asking ahead of his UFC heavyweight championship fight against Stipe Miocic.

Over the weekend, the UFC held one of the biggest events in the organisation's history as Merab Dvalishvilli defeated Sean O'Malley to win the bantamweight title at the Las Vegas sphere.

Ahead of the fight, the UFC officially announced that heavyweight champion Jon Jones would defend his belt against former champion Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 309 in Madison Square Garden this November.

And shortly after the fight was announced, one fan had the chance to speak with Jones and ask him the one question on everyone's minds.

Initially, the fan from the clockednloaded YouTube channel simply asked how Jones felt ahead of the bout with Stipe, to which Jones responded: "I feel great, I feel really really good. I'm about 250 pounds lean and strong."

But when asked if it would be his retirement fight, the 37-year-old replied: "It's going to be the last time. Gonna be the last time more than likely."

The news will no doubt disappoint British MMA fans who want to see the American face off against interim champion Tom Aspinall, who has been extremely public about his desires to face Jones in the octagon.

However it isn't all bad news for Aspinall fans as, if Jones defeats Miocic and chooses to retire with the belt, it means that Atherton-based heavyweight will officially be elevated to the undisputed champion.

But there may still be one fight that would keep Jones from hanging up the gloves and handing the belt to Aspinall as, in a May 2023 interview, Jones did reveal that there would be one fight which would stop him from retiring after the fight with Miocic.

Speaking to Fox News Australia, he said: "I do believe a Francis Ngannou fight would be worth entertaining not retiring.

"I think a Francis fight would come with some serious revenue and that would make it worth my while.

"Francis is a former champion, he's pretty damn popular here in America and across the world he's very well known.

"It would bring in a lot of money and for that I would be willing to come back."
