Joe Rogan's podcast charges staggering amount for advertising products

The JRE is one of the most popular podcasts in the world and advertising on it doesn't come cheap

Advertising your product on one of the most popular podcasts in the world can be an extremely expensive exercise.

Since he launched his podcast in 2009, Joe Rogan has become one of the most downloaded – and sometimes controversial – podcasters on the planet.

When the UFC commentator first launched the Joe Rogan Experience, it largely featured guests from the worlds of comedy and MMA, with low production values and a long, rambling episodes – and it even featured a sex toy as its first major sponsor.

The episodes are still long – often clocking in at more than three hours – but the JRE now operates out of a bespoke studio in Austin, Texas, and has featured some of the most famous people in the world as guests, including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and Mike Tyson.

The show's dedicated YouTube channel has over 19 million subscribers and episodes regularly top the the Spotify charts.

In 2020, Rogan signed a deal reportedly worth $100 million to grant Spotify exclusive rights to the podcast. And last year he renewed his agreement with the streaming giant for $250 million.

Such is the scope of influence Rogan and his show wields that when Donald Trump was a guest on the podcast ahead of the US presidential election last year, his appearance – coupled with Rogan's official endorsement of the Republican candidate via a post on social media platform X – is believed to have played a significant part in the former president's re-election.

So with such a large and deeply engaged audience, it stands to reason that Rogan charges brands a pretty penny to advertise on his podcast.

Some of the companies who regularly feature in ads on the JRE include Better Help, Manscaped and ZipRecruiter.

And according to an article on radioactivemedia.com, the minimum price for advertising on Rogan's podcast is $120,000.

"With the right approach and the right amount of money, sponsoring The Joe Rogan Experience can be a smart investment for your brand," the article says. "Many Joe Rogan sponsors report significant returns thanks to the podcast’s massive audience and high engagement levels."
