Joe Rogan criticised Donald Trump's administration over a video that has now been taken down, during a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience.

Rogan, who is a colour commentator for the UFC, has also become one of the most influential podcasters in the world.

Last year, streaming giant Spotify signed a huge deal worth up to $250 million for The Joe Rogan Experience, making the podcast available on other platforms.

Rogan has also been openly supportive of Donald Trump and publicly backed the Republican in last year's presidential election.

Trump even appeared on the podcast on the campaign trail.

But now, nearly a year into Trump's second term as American president, Rogan has hit out at the administration's handling of an incident involving fellow podcaster Theo Von.

Von, who appeared on the latest episode of Rogan's show, had already spoken out about the Department of Homeland Security using footage of him in a video to promote their immigration crackdown.

The clip was used without his permission, and speaking on his own podcast, This Past Weekend, Von admitted the situation made him really scared.

He revealed: "[I] got so much hate stuff. I mean, a lot of it I didn’t see. But I would just see enough where it was like, f*** this is scary.”

In Tuesday's episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan sympathised with Von and expressed his shock that the authorities did not reach out first.

"Bro, that was crazy," he said.

"They didn’t even ask you."

Von replied: "It was really scary for me.”

Rogan then pointed out that Von had originally posted the clip long before it was used by the government.

“And you were just joking around because you were talking to a guy who was talking to his friend," Rogan continued.

“And this was quite a while ago too, right? When was that video?”

Von revealed the video was from around a year and a half ago.

Rogan argued that if a private organisation had used Von's content in the same way, then he would have grounds to sue them.

He continued: “If a company did that you could sue them, you know I’m saying?

“Like, if it was privatised, like, if ICE was a private company and that was the people that the United States hired to get rid of illegal immigrants and they used, you could sue them.”

Von then revealed that he got an attorney involved in order to get the video taken down.
