Joe Rogan has finally revealed why he decided to bring former US president Donald Trump onto his podcast after years of fans requesting the episode.

Since starting 'The Joe Rogan Experience' in 2009, podcast host Rogan has welcomed some of the biggest names in the world onto his show including Elon Musk, Mike Tyson and Kanye West.

Fans of the show regularly post on social media to ask Rogan to bring various guests onto the podcast for a discussion, but no one was requested more than former American president Trump.

And, after finally having him on an episode of the podcast this week, Rogan has revealed exactly why he decided to finally record an episode with Trump.

While speaking with Trump on the latest episode of the podcast, the UFC commentator turned podcaster mentioned his guest's interview with comedian Theo Von on his own podcast in August.

“Is that why you called me to do this,” Trump responded with a smile.

Rogan replied: “No. Once they shot you I was like ‘he’s gotta come in here.'

“It’s all about timing, it’s all about the timing. I think the timing is perfect."

Despite thousands of fan requests, Trump's appearance on the show comes as a surprise to many after Rogan's previously comments about not wanting to have the politician on his podcast.

Speaking on the Lex Fridman Podcast in 2022, Rogan said: “I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once, I’ve said ‘no’ every time. I don’t want to help him. I’m not interested in helping him,”

“I am not a Trump supporter in any way shape or form,” he added.

With the 60th US presidential election taking place in just over one week, now is the perfect time for Trump to have appeared on such a popular podcast.

And the presidential nominee made the most of this opportunity, as he used his love of the UFC to ask the podcast host for an endorsement.

“He gave me the nicest endorsement,” Trump said, speaking about Elon Musk. “You should do the same thing Joe because you cannot be voting for Kamala. Kamala. You’re not a Kamala person. I know you.”

“I have watched you for so many years. You’re not a Kamala person. You’re a Khabib (Nurmagemedov) person"
