A UFC fighter has revealed that he married his opponent's sister after losing to him in a brutal bout.
On Saturday night, the UFC returns to Canada for a fight night event inside the Rogers Arena, Vancouver.
The fight card will be headlined by a middleweight bout between Reinier de Ridder and Brendan Allen, with the winner in with a strong chance of getting a title fight against current champion Khamzat Chimaev next.
Given the location of the card, several Canadians will fight throughout the evening, including Kyle Prepolec who will face lightweight veteran Drew Dober on the prelims.

And before the fight gets underway, a clip of Dober recalling how he met, and later married, one of his previous opponent's sisters while partying post-fight has gone viral.

Back in 2014, Dober faced travelled to Berlin to face Germany's Nick Hein in only his second fight within the UFC.
After a brutal and bloody 15 minute war, the fight went to the judges scorecards, where Hein was awarded a unanimous decision, despite protests from Dober.

But the American didn't let the result stop him from enjoying the nightlife of one of the most popular cities in Europe, as he went out post-fight to celebrate with his opponent at an after-party.
And it is there that he met and immediately hit it off with Hein's sister, Gloria.
Speaking about the meeting on Against the Fence, Dober revealed: “I fought in Germany. I fought a man named Nick Hein. Unfortunately, I lost but I disagreed with the decision. But whatever.
“We want to post fight party of Nick Hein's, because we were in Germany why not celebrate with the Germans, right? Met his family, was introduced to his sister and I married his sister. Did you guys know that? I married my opponent’s sister.

"He won the battle but I won the war!"
Dober and Gloria Hein were married for two years before seprating, with the UFC fighter now married to Hollis Casey, the mother of his daughter, Sonya.

How did Nick Hein react to Dober's relationship with his sister?
One years after his fight with Hein, Dober recalled the fight and his meeting with Gloria in an interview with the UFC.

“I fought Nick Hein in Berlin, and he was a really great guy," Dober recalled.
"He invited me to his post-fight party and I showed up and met his family, one of which is his sister. We exchanged numbers and we were talking daily after that."
Although you would maybe expect Hein to react negatively to his former opponent later marrying his sister, Dober actually revealed that the German fighter was immediately supportive of the relationship and even suggested they could get married just hours after they met.
“He made mention of me being his brother-in-law on the taxi ride back to the hotel from the post-fight party,” said Dober.
